ERASMUS+ guest lecturer

07.11.2022 | Internationales

From November 7 to 11th, 2022, we had a pleasure to welcome the first ERASMUS+ lecturer of this academic year Assistant Professor Bengt Morten Wenstøb from our partner university Østfold University College, Norway.
After working as a field social worker and a school psychological counselor, Mr. Wenstøb has been dedicating his passion for teaching in the higher education for more than 20 years. His academic interest focuses on topics like “National and international health”, “Children's rights” and “National and international labour policy”. Besides his academical and research competence, he stands out for his unique personal background as a former member of the Norwegian parliament from 2013 to 2017 and also as a certified sommelier since 2017.
Prof. Dr. Florian Kiuppis, Prof. Dr. Florian Schumacher and Prof. Dr. Frank Luck welcomed him in their lectures where Mr. Wenstøb gave speech on the following topics:

  • “How can we understand Norwegian youth culture in the context of The Norwegian author Lars Saabye Christensens book Beatles?”
  • “Can the Nordic welfare model solve the challenges of the future in social work?”
  • “Public Health in Norway. Political priorities in challenging time”

Besides the lectures, he had an opportunity to meet other members of the KH Freiburg such as the social work students, quality management officers and the academic staffs.

At the winery Linder in Endingen he could gain an overview of the natural wine making and the current agricultural situation of the region.
Mr. Wenstøb is a key person in the cooperation between our universities. As a guest speaker he already took part in the last International Week 2021.

It was also him who encouraged the student mobility and currently there are students studying or doing an internship on both sides.
We are looking forward to meeting him again when he comes back with his students to the next International Week we will host in May 2023.
KH Freiburg welcomes the guest speakers to give lectures for our students. The lectures can either be giving online or they can be given in person at our university.
