The Institute for Applied Research coordinates and draws together the diverse research activities at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg and promotes these efforts in several important ways.

Within the framework of the “University Strategy Process 2016 – 2020”, all research activities were collected into a single research manual.

The creation of this manual has subsequently allowed professors to make use of application support, for example, in terms of project acquisition, funding advice, and application procedures. Furthermore, professors are able to take advantage of a well-developed support system for research which includes, among other forms of assistance, payment-in-kind reductions, research semesters, and financial support provided from a central research fund.
